They tend to ramp up the prices of special releases slightly. He is very jovial and his suggestions have been spot on in my experience. ![]() He is possesses a veritable wealth of information about beer. They guy who manages the beer department there is named Ray, and he is a swell guy. The imported selection is pretty solid as well. They also stock many quality local breweries such as Mayflower, Pretty things, Clown shoes, etc. They stock most of all the major craft beweries with MA distro. Also, I have had very good success with on line ordering and direct inquiries to the beer manager looking for "special" brews from time to time - saves a ton of legwork and store-hopping that is inadvisable with the Covid issues we face today. They have overall reduced the beer aisle by about 25% replacing a lot of slower moving imprts with meads and hard seltzers, but they seem to have enriched the hard to find beers by eliminating some of the "dogs". Not a beer Nirvana for the ultra rare stuff, but solid selection and I would go there when in the area.Įdit to add in 2021: Pricing seems to have stabilized and is more in line with other stores in the area. Thought they were a bit pricey for the area. Beer is spaced out in two very roomy aisles in the store, better lighting, much better organization by brewery. Checkouts are more efficient and better placed. The new layout is a significant improvement over what was a nice store to begin with. Service seems fine, I just did not need much.Įdited to add: The store has gotten a complete makeover since my review. Staff was pleasant, and when I explained I just wanted to browse they left me to my own evil devices. No problem finding things since there is plenty of space, just unclear what the reasoning is for shelf organization. Easy to locate things, well organized, but not entirely sure how it was organized (brewery, style, etc). ![]() They have the larger bottles separated, which was kind of nice. Make your own six pack is fine except for cans in boxes. Selection of six packs was a little limited, by I did not have trouble leaving cash behind when I left. Mass brews relegated to the floor or coolers. Nice long aisle of craft and specialty brews. Nov 09, 2013īig bright, spotless store in a strip mall. If I am in the area (which is rarely) I always try to stop in, it's totally worth it. Service is actually quite good, last time I was here they boxed up my own bottles without even asking. There are however MANY old items sitting on the shelves here that looked like they have been sitting, definitely found VERY old IPAs, but the flipside is that some other items that can sit well were still here, and there are some nice gems. There's a decent selection here with many breweries represented, and there's some decent foreign selection also. The beer is on your right hand side where it is only in one aisle, too bad you'd think there would be more based on the size of the store but it's only about 10% with the rest being wines, and some items in the back in the cooler. It's very much a large warehouse like setting, and extremely cavernous so there's nothing but functional atmosphere and large isles which is fine.
