![]() Because once you get hideously overpowered (and you do) it's an ultraviolent blast, and it feels earned. I still come back every couple years anyway. And even after multiple playthroughs there are still points where I get stuck and bang my head against the wall trying to figure out how to go forward. Kyle controls like he's on ice skates (or shot in the leg if you're walking.) You don't even get the lightsaber until halfway through the damn game, and then it throws a sniper level at you where it's borderline useless. Easy stretches and a supposed checkpoint system lull you into a false sense of security, and then you hit a difficulty spike and lose an hour of progress. I've ALWAYS thought the difficulty of this game is all over the place. I played this game when it was new, and revisit it now and again because I really love dismembering people. I wish jk2 would start straight with a sword - that's what's game all about not some boring ass killing hundreds of troopers with basic blaster. Ok fair enough about command but why it isn't option in menu or off as default? I'm speaking about first 4h all levels looks almost identical and there almost no variety in enemy design, same with weapons you can carry just pistol, blaster, bowcaster granades, sticky bombs and that's it. I dunno about Deus ex since i never played it when it come out and shooting mechanics is so dated that i can't really play it anymore, i wish i would play it at launch since story, dialogues are excelent. Problem is that just you are playing only old games non stop and hate on all new ones, also playing new ones would show you how game can benefit from good level design which jk2 really lacks, Both Hl1 and 2 had superior level design i never get lost without "arrow over your head", i beat jk2 long time ago and now i have trouble walking through 2nd time. The complaint about autoaim can be turned off with a console command "cg_dynamiccrosshair 0" as for your complaint that every level looks the same either you didn't get far into the game or you have terrible eyesight and I suggest you speak to an optometrist. It is best not to compare the two JK2 is meant to be a lightsaber game while half assing the gunplay to please the original fans of the DF series. If you honestly think hl2 is amazing level design you need to look harder, try the original deus ex. I just kinda find it silly that the map lay out doesnt make it any easier cause it would feel like im just running around in circle. ![]() its like me spending an hour trying to get this one door open until i realize that i have to do a small task in order to open the door and for me to compete that task, i would have to look in a place no one would even bother to look. Ok, that's kinda true but playing this game for the first time is frustrating.
